A little Bit about your farmer
I am qualified in nutrition, permaculture, biodynamics and beekeeping. I am passionate about educating everyone about nutrient dense home grown food. What this means for you is the knowledge your food is grown with love, dedication and a whole lotta fun (because I can't do things without making them fun. Personality flaw). There is nothing quite like fresh organic vegetables straight from a market garden, there is a cripsness, a taste and a freshness that you just cannot get anywhere else. You are not only nourishing your body with nutrient dense fresh food but you are supporting a farmer to earn an income from doing what they love. Nourishing the earth and nourishing you.
I was lucky enough to grow up on a mixed farm in SA, inspired to see alternative agriculture as the way forward for the planet as a young woman who then chose to study, research and work in the fields of permaculture, education and health. I am blessed to now be in a position fulfilling my life long dream of being a farmer on my very own family farm putting my many, many years of research, explorations, knowledge and passion into growing nutrient dense food whilst restoring and regenerating the land. With help of my husband and three children (click meet the team) the market gardens are now growing and producing, the orchards are planted (well some of them) and the plans for animals in motion. It's a big vision, the vision for this farm, and we have motivation and a community around us that will help us succeed.
Community supported agriculture and small scale farms are the leading the way in restoring equality in the agriculture sector whilst building community, reducing food miles and more....My favourite poem of all time is one by Ralph Waldo Emmerson and I have spent my adult life having this as my driving values. Knowing that my farming journey is part of the legacy I leave behind, gives me all the motivation I need.

"To laugh often and much: To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded."
